Julius Caesar :

Because Julius Caesar played such an important role in the conquest of Gaul by the Roman, It is interesting to have a more detailed biography about him. He was born in 100 BC and died in 44BC. It is interesting how Caesar became “Caesar”, this incredible conqueror and dictator.

Well documented website about the Roman Empire. It contains many maps. The history of the founding of Rome is interesting. A chronological list of the Roman kings is developed.  Finally, the decline of the Roman Empire is explained.

This website gives a ludic way to learne about the conquest of Gaul by the Roman. You can find a description of many of the battles like for example the rebellion of Vercingetorix. Finally, there are some pictures representing this historical timeframe.

In this website, the art of different Roman Province is described. It gives an i9nteresting overview of the incredible and beautiful Roman art. The timelines presented in the website are great. I recommend to see the slideshows in the specific timelines. 

 

Museum Unterlinden:

The museum Unterlinden is located in Colmar, France. It is in this museum that most of the artifacts found on the Roman site of Horbourg-Wihr are exhibited. You can choose the language. I suggest going on the virtual tour. Select the level -1 and go to the room 27 and 28 to see some of the Gallo-Roman artifacts.
